Eva Mayer (nee Kiefer) studied American Studies, psychology, and political science at Bonn University and at the University of Pennsylvania. She interned at the German Foreign Office and the German Institute for International and Foreign Affairs. In October 2010, Eva joined the HCA as a Ph.D. student focusing on ways to explain a post-9/11 rally around the flag effect in Congress with securitization and prospect theory. From September 2010 to June 2011 she worked as the BAS coordinator. In the following years she has held a range of different positions at the HCA. Since winter term 2011-12, she has taught American government courses. With the beginning of the winter term 2015-16, she also teaches a course on key skills for the BAS in American Studies. Since mid-June 2015 Eva Kiefer serves as BAS coordinator.
