GKAT Interdisciplinary Seminars
The course program was designed to equip doctoral researchers with profound theoretical and methodological knowledge in two core areas: (a) the interdisciplinary foundations of American Studies and (b) the theoretical perspectives on the concepts of authority and trust. The two introductory courses, held in the first year of the program, were organized in a co-teaching format to adequately represent the different disciplines and familiarize doctoral researchers with a range of theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches. Prioritizing time for research, we kept the mandatory coursework intentionally brief, limiting it to two courses at the start of the program. Doctoral researchers were, however, encouraged to participate in interdisciplinary seminars at the HCA and relevant events offered by other university institutes.
